In 2049 B.S., the Kailali district of Sudurpashchim lacked access to banks and financial institutions. In response, 17 individuals initiated a community savings fund to address the financial needs of the local population. As a result of their efforts, Navajeevan Co-operatives Limited was officially registered on 15th Baisakh 2050 B.S. under the Cooperative Act 2048. The institution began with 64 members. It commenced formal financial operations on 30th Mangsir 2050 B.S. and has been providing services continuously since then.

Despite the emergence of numerous financial institutions in the region, Navajeevan has maintained a strong and distinct presence. In addition to savings and credit services, the cooperative has expanded into the agricultural sector. It has registered an industry and established a rice processing plant with a capacity of 2,000 quintals per hour. Rice is now produced and sold under the cooperative’s own brand name. Further agricultural programs are planned for the near future.

Navajeevan is committed to supporting its members throughout all stages of life. The institution provides maternal care benefits, medical assistance, and funeral support. As part of its social responsibility, it actively engages in community welfare activities aimed at improving overall quality of life.

The trust of its members remains the foundation of Navajeevan’s respected and growing presence in Nepal’s cooperative sector.
